On April 10th, 2025, we received a generous bicycle donation from Mill Race Cyclery. Through their “Build-a-Bike” team building program, we were the beneficiaries of six brand-new bikes! We extend our gratitude to Mill Race Cyclery owner, Bruce Heidlauf, for investing in the Fox Valley community.
The “Build-a-Bike” program is a team-building experience offered by Mill Race Cyclery. In this experience, the teams may face exercises such as skills tests, critical thinking competitions, project planning or project quality which allows everyone to work towards a common goal. By the end of the experience, teams create bicycles together that they can donate to whichever charity they’d like.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to be presented with such high-quality bicycles. Mill Race Cyclery identified Fox Valley United Way as a local nonprofit that helps families in the communities we serve. In light of that, we are privileged to allocate these bikes to members of our service area!
On April 19th, 2025, SPARK (Strong, Prepared and Ready for Kindergarten), an early childhood education initiative of Fox Valley United Way, hosted their first annual Countdown to Kindergarten Fair. During this fair, three lucky families were winners of these brand new bikes! These families had children with ages ranging from 10-14 that got to go home with a new ride.
Thank you, Mill Race Cyclery, for impacting the communities around you through this generous donation!
